The following Inns are all mentioned or featured at some point in the Doctor Syn series of novels. Some of them have smuggling connections. Almost all the places are located on Romney Marsh, with a few exceptions. There are also 5 Romney Marsh public houses not mentioned in the books, where Jayl has performed as the Scarecrow or where the pub have supported our projects and development. They have therefore been given an honorary place on this page as true supporters of the Dr.Syn legend. The authors of this site have partaken of ales or refreshments in most of the establishments on this page; indeed, at one time or another a few of these places have been regular locals.
